Happy Monday & Happy Memorial Day, everyone! To mark the start of what is bound to be a great week, I wanted to share a post with you that is very near and dear to my heart, my dining room reveal. That’s right, our dining room, which I think I mentioned working on in a post many moons ago, is finally done. It only took us what seems like an eternity, but it’s finished and I couldn’t be happier. Check out more below!
Just like many other rooms in our home, we went with a bright white paint on the walls, then filled the space with eclectic decor that really reflects our personal taste.
We created a gallery wall out of paintings, found objects like antique railroad ties from our cities historic downtown and personal family photos.
A vintage poodle playing card, that was discovered in the ceiling during our kitchen renovation, is also displayed as part of our gallery wall. I love it and I knew when we found it that it was definitely going somewhere in our home.
Our gorgeous dining table, made custom by my stepfather, sits on an Moroccan style rug and is surrounded by white metal bistro chairs. It’s the best seat in the house!
In the center of the table, we placed a plaster corn mold, a piece found at a local salvage shop that was once used to create those old vintage corn dishes people used in the 60s and 70s. It’s definitely a conversation piece, which is why I love it.
The final touch in our dining room is this vintage blue cabinet that we found in a barn at a local estate sale. Topped with artwork, a cherished photo of my husband’s late aunt Diane, and my beloved blue cocktail glasses that I purchases from THE Emily Henderson via Chairish, it is by far my favorite corner in my house.
Now that the dining room is done the next victim is (drumroll please)…my home office. Can’t wait to finish it and share it with everyone!
