This years holiday decor is all about vintage ornaments in pretty pastel shades and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. In the past I’ve always decorated with silver and gold, but this year I really wanted a change, I just didn’t know what. Then, one day when I randomly did a search for vintage ornaments on eBay, I immediately fell in love and my new holiday decor plan took shape. I am now totally and unequivocally obsessed with vintage ornaments and can’t believe I ever decorated with anything else. Aside from ornaments, I used lots of greenery and few other vintage touches, which you can check out below.
A silver platter (from Target) filled with pastel, silver and gold vintage ornaments is the focal point of the living room. From there, I used the same vintage ornaments around the room, along with greenery and a few other vintage touches.
On the fireplace I hung our furry white stockings (also from Target), layered the leftover greenery from our Christmas tree trimming, and placed vintage brass candle holders on each side. I have to say, it took a lot of hours and hard work to get the tarnished candle holders polished and pretty, but I very happy with the outcome (thanks Netflix for helping me get through it).
Some of the vintage ornaments I bought came in these super cool, Christmas boxes. So I decided why hide them away when you can display them and put them in the fireplace for a pretty, vintage pop of color.
On the Christmas tree, we continued the vintage ornament theme, using a mix of vintage ornaments and new ornaments to fill the tree. I also used silver beaded sprigs from the craft store and of course, classic white lights.
Beside the Christmas tree, we used reproduced vintage ornaments in the seat of one of our old theater seats, then added silver garland to the top.
Across the room, we used more vintage ornaments on side table, placed beside a lovely vase (get it an Anthro) filled with greenery.
Our lovely little, sparkly star pillow sits on the sofa, adding a little holiday cheer to an otherwise all-grey couch.
Finally, I removed the art beside the fireplace and added this oversized white stocking in it’s place, adorned with an “E” for Ellis, greenery and what else, vintage ornaments.
I hope everyone enjoyed my holiday decor tour and hope everyone has a very Happy Holiday season!
