Making ornaments is a great way to get in the holiday spirit and the possibilities are endless. There are a million ways and materials you can use to make your own ornaments, but one of my favorite ornament DIY’s is for this decopadged, merry and bright ornament. They are gorgeous, easy to make and it’s a fun project to do alone or with the family and friend. Just follow the steps below and start filling your tree with these holiday beauties!
Glass Or Plastic Ornament (You can use any size you like, but I used large)
Wrapping Paper (I used Target’s Merry & Bright)
Paint or Foam Brush1. Start by cutting the center of your wrapping paper image out in a circle, then cut multiple 1-2 inch strips of the same wrapping paper. If you do not have an image you want to have centered, simply cut the strips and skip the circle.
2. Remove the top of the ornament and start applying your Mod Podge to the center of the image. Then apply your wrapping paper, center image to the Mod Podge on the ornament and use your brush to continue apply Mod Podge over the image until it is secure and smooth.
3. Once your center image is secure, add more Mod Podge around the image and start securing your wrapping paper strips. Work your way around the ornament, adding Mod Podge, strips, then more Mod Podge, until your entire ornament is covered. Then, allow 2-3 hours of dry time, place your ornament top back on, add a hook and hang!
